Weapons recovered from TMC ward office were meant to attack BJP workers, claims MLA

Sharp weapons, bamboo sticks, white burial shrouds, and a large quantity of government relief materials were allegedly recovered from Trinamool Congress ward offices in Baguiati during an inspection drive led by BJP MLA Tarunjyoti Tewari on Thursday. The recovery has triggered a political controversy, with allegations being directed at former Rajarhat-Gopalpur MLA Aditi Munshi and her husband Debraj Chakraborty.

According to available information, Tarunjyoti Tewari and his supporters visited multiple ward offices in the constituency and conducted inspections after breaking open locked premises. White burial shrouds and government relief materials were allegedly recovered from an office linked to former MLA Aditi Munshi. The items recovered reportedly included buckets, tarpaulins and other materials intended for public distribution.

During the operation, a large number of sharp weapons were also allegedly recovered from the office of Bidhannagar Ward No. 18 councillor Indranath Bagui, who is considered close to Trinamool leader Debraj Chakraborty. The discovery of the weapons, relief materials and shrouds created a stir in the area and attracted significant public attention.

The BJP alleged that the weapons had been stockpiled for attacks on party workers and that government relief materials had been withheld instead of being distributed among beneficiaries. BJP MLA Tarunjyoti Tewari claimed that party workers had previously received threats and alleged that the recovered weapons were intended for use against political opponents. Further investigation into the recovery and the allegations is continuing.
